For our 2018-19 season we are delighted to welcome these guest speakers:
Andy Rouse
Andy is one of the world’s leading exponents of wildlife photography who is now making equally big waves in the arena of aviation photography.
He has published several books and won 20 international awards for his work. His style is often a counterpoint to a lot of wildlife imagery inasmuch as he will shoot with a slightly wider lens than convention dictates to include examples of the creatures’ habitat. His abiding passions are for animals and aeroplanes, and he says his photography allows him to indulge his passion.
In the UK his favourite animals are the Hare and the Roe Deer, around the world Polar Bears and Mountain Gorillas. Recently he has been photographing Tigers in Ranthambore and this will be part of his focus this time.
Andy is always an entertaining speaker, and his enthusiasm is obvious to anyone listening.
He is a Canon Explorer as well a champion of Flexline tripod heads which he is known to wax lyrical about in his videos.
Along with his close friend Andrew James, he set up Fotobuzz, an online photographic learning community.

Foundation Portrait Photography, co-written with Hannah McGregor – aimed at beginners, covering
the essentials of camera craft, lighting and working with subjects;
and Mastering Portrait Photography, co-written with Paul Wilkinson aimed squarely at the more experienced photographer.
Her style is relaxed and aims to ‘capture a little bit of the person, beyond their physical self.’ Having first picked up a camera at the age of 14-15 she has always gravitated towards images of people and trying to bring out their stories. She is a skilled photographer and an encouraging voice in teaching and enthusing over her subject. We are delighted that she is able to share her knowledge with us.
